Meta introduces AI powered sunglasses

October 19, 2023

Have you ever wished you could learn a new skill without having to watch hours of YouTube tutorials or read boring manuals? Well, you might be in luck, because Meta (formerly known as Facebook) has just released a new pair of smart glasses that can teach you anything with the help of artificial intelligence (AI).

Mark Zuckerberg, the founder and CEO of Meta, recently demonstrated how these glasses work by learning how to braid his daughter's hair. In a video he posted on Instagram, he asked the glasses, "Hey Meta, how can I make a braid?" and a friendly voice guided him through the steps. He then used the glasses to take a photo of his masterpiece and send it to his wife, Priscilla.

The glasses are called Meta Ray-Bans, and they are a collaboration between Meta and the famous sunglasses brand. They look like regular glasses, but they have a camera, a microphone, and a speaker built-in. They also have Meta AI, which is a smart assistant that can answer your questions, send photos, or live stream your view to Meta platforms like Facebook and Instagram.

Meta Ray-Bans come in two styles: the $299 Meta Wayfair and the $329 Meta Headliner. You can choose from different colors and lens options, including polarized, clear, or transition lenses. The glasses can record up to 30 minutes of video or 500 photos per charge, and they come with a case that can recharge them up to three times.

Meta says these glasses are designed to help you capture and share your experiences without having to look at your phone. They also say they respect your privacy and the privacy of others by having a LED light that indicates when the camera is on. However, some critics have raised concerns about the potential misuse of these glasses for spying or recording without consent.

What do you think of these glasses? Would you buy them? What would you like to learn from them? Let us know in the comments below! And don't forget to check out to our blog for more updates on the latest news in artificial intelligence!
